Environmental Sustainability

The building and construction industry is one of the biggest contributors to landfill worldwide. At Eco Building Services, we’re working to combat this.

Environmental sustainability is at our core, which means our building process incorporates sustainable practices from start to finish. Each time we take on a new construction project, we consider the impact it is going to have on the environment, and employ certain measures to reduce this.

Our three key sustainable practices include:

01

Reusing materials

We plan all of our projects fastidiously to eliminate excess materials and wastage, ensuring your project doesn’t contribute to landfill.

02

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We use FSC certified timber and source from local suppliers where possible to reduce transport miles and embodied energy.

03

Recycling construction demolition

We donate all excess materials to a range of places including NCEC and the Mens Shed in Sandgate.

Sourcing eco-friendly materials for your home renovation or extension.

The team at Eco Building Services recommend that if you are thinking of incorporating sustainable items into your project that you look at the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). Their product searcher allows you to flick through a wide variety of materials that are GECA certified – meaning they have been ethically made, are environmentally responsible, and have a lower impact on human health (another key concern with building materials).
